Well Payton's second top tooth finally broke through making that 5 sweet teeth for him. He has done really well cutting teeth. I love seeing him smile and grin with those little white teeth shining. When it comes to walking there is not much happening! He is cruising around the house holding onto furniture and standing up in the middle of the floor. When he realizes he is standing up by his self he gets so excited and hits the floor! We are still practicing and I know really soon he will just start walking. I have done really well this past year keeping up his baby book and calendar. As for my next child, I hope I can say the same! I think one day when he is grown he will appreciate all the silly things I wrote about every little thing he did!
This afternoon we went for Payton's one year shots. Everything went pretty good considering shots are no fun for anyone. He weighed in at 18 lbs. and 8 oz. and was 28.5 in. long. He also had to have floride applied to his sweet little teeth and he really did not like the taste of that! Dr. Ponzi said his speech and talking was way above average and was very pleased with that. We go back for 15 month shots so for now that is pretty much it!
Well the party is over with and back to the life of a one year old. Payton had an amazing BIG birthday party at our church with lots of good food, family/friends, and tons of presents. He got so many beautiful clothes, toys, and money for his savings acoount. Jamie and I opended presents for 45 minutes straight if that tells you anything. As for the birthday party, Payton really enjoyed seeing his family and friends. When it came to the birthday cake he was not so excited. He is not really into sweets right now so needless to say he didn't get into a big mess with the cake! The day ended with unloading all the presents and mommy and daddy removing toys from the boxes with the 500 twist ties companies use to hold them into place...whewww were we tired!
Payton has a new big boy carseat that faces forward which he loves very much. As we were driving down the road yesterday he was pointing at everything and saying, "huh"! So now our car rides will be lots of fun and learning time for him. Payton also no longer has a bottle. He finished his last formula bottle on the night of his birthday and is now drinking only from his sippey cup with whole milk. I am so proud of him and he doesn't act like he misses his bottle yet!
We go to the doctor this afternoon for shots. I will posts his weight and height later. Hope you enjoy the pics from the birthday party!
Well today is the big day....my baby boy is one year old. Last year about this time I was in labor, my water broke, and I was really wanting an epidural! I had such a wonderful delivery with lots of family and friends there to see the most perfect blessing from God. Payton was born at 10:48 a.m. weighing in at 6 lbs. and 11 oz. and was 20.5 in. long. He was so perfect to me and Jamie. I remember thinking once we were home..."Lord, help me to raise this baby as you would have me to and let him be healthy." I think the Lord has answered my prayers because he is a healthy and beautiful baby boy. I want to teach him right from wrong, to be respectful, and to know Jesus Christ. Being a mommy is the best thing in the world. I just melt a hundred times when he says, "ma-ma, ma-ma, ma-ma" over and over again! This past year has been a year of sleepless nights, plenty of tears, doctor's visits, laughs, smiles, and endless love. I have the most perfect life when I stop to think about it...thank you Lord for family and love. Hope you enjoy a few birthday pictures of Payton and I will posts more after the birthday party tomorrow. Oh and also, hope everyone has a Happy Fourth of July. Happy birthday to MaMa's Boogie Man. I love you so much Payton Carey Rouse!
Well finally I am able to posts a few pictures from Jordan and Emily's baby shower. This has been one busy week preparing for the biggest birthday party for Payton! Jordan and Emily had a wonderful baby shower with lots of wonderful gifts given to them. Our family is so blessed to be so close. We are so excited for Jackson's arrival and so is Payton! Payton would not take a nap at the shower so we put him in Jackson's stroller and pushed him around an finally....a much needed nap! Hope you enjoy the pictures.
Well today was a very busy day for the entire family. We had Jordan and Emily's baby shower for baby Jackson Cole Rouse. The shower turned out really well with lots of beautiful things for Jackson and A LOT of good food! Payton managed to fall and got a good scrape/brusie on his eye. This is the first of many to come. He is truly a busy little boy. His favorite thing to do is climb and open all cabinet doors in my house. Hope you enjoy this picture of him after he climbed into the dishwasher!
Well today I noticed another new discovery about Payton. He has another tooth coming through on the bottom making that 3 teeth. He has one on the top and another not quite ready to come through but you can see it! I love his little teeth and apparantly they work really well because he loves eating table food and can eat just about anything! He is really surprising me how much he is trying to say. Believe it or not he tried to say "cheesedoodle" today! He loves to call our dog's name "Jaida" because that is all he ever hears me say. I am really enjoying teaching him names to objects and learning just how smart an almost one year old really is! Today has been a busy day and my family is giving Jordan and Emily a baby shower tomorrow at our church for Baby Jackson. We are all looking forward to meeting him and spoiling him rotten! I will be sure to posts some picturs of the shower. And oh,.......my baby will be ONE next Saturday July 4th....oh how time flies.
