Cheesedoodles and Watermelon

Yesterday was a LONG day at daycare apparently. When I picked him up Mrs. Linda said he had only had a 45 minute morning nap. As usual, when we get home we get a snack. Payton's favorite snack is cheesedoodles as I have mentioned in my previous blogs. I know, go ahead and say it, that is a very healthy snack huh??? Well anyways Payton was drinking his milk and eating his snack and when I turned around this is what I found in the highchair. I just had to take a picture and break out the camcorder!

After Payton's nap I decided to be a good wife and mommy and cook BBQ chicken on the grill. Everything was going good until I decided I wanted to go get a watermelon out of the garden and cut it up because EVERYONE in our house LOVES watermelon. Jamie happened to walk up and helped me get the watermelon on the porch. As I am cutting into the watermelon my husband decides he is going to walk to the shop and return in a few minutes..........yeah right! Needless to say I was left cutting watermelon on the porch, cooking chickens on the grill, watching a one year old who was filthy as can be, making sure he doesn't fall down the steps, and trying to keep dirty little hands out of the watermelon bowl as I was cutting it up...whew was I tired! I ended up calling Jamie's cell phone and asking for just a little bit of help considering the situation he left me in. Can you say good wife please! Anyway Payton ate sooo much watermelon and reached inside the bowl and dropped it on the porch and tried to eat it. We had a really good time and enjoyed the watermelon so much!

SPARE CHANGE at the Center Street Jam

Well Payton and myself went to see Uncle Jordan and Spare Change this past Thursday night at the Center Street Jam in Goldsboro. We had a great time and Payton was so amazed at the loud music and waving at Uncle Jordan on stage.

Here is Payton looking cute on the way to the Center Street Jam

Overall we had a really good time at the Center Street Jam and the weather was really nice. Payton had a really good time also and he behaved really well.

Little Monkey

Well Payton has been on this climbing kick for the last 2 weeks and every time I turn around he is standing on something or climbing. He thinks it is soooo funny when I tell him to get down. Here is little man standing in his John Deere rocking chair looking at his fish aqurarium.

I just can't help but smile when he knows he is not suppose to be standing in his chair!

The other day I looked in the kitchen and this is what I saw. Payton had pulled out all of my mixing bowls and after playing with them he figured he could climb inside the cabinent! He really had a lot of fun and I just had to get a picture!

All I can say is BOYS will be BOYS!!!

My Baby is WALKING

Well today was a big day for me and for Payton. I cut my grass today so Payton stayed at daycare a little longer than normal. After I cut grass I got a quick shower and then headed to Mrs. Linda's to pick Payton up from daycare. When I pulled up at daycare, my Aunt Doris Ann was holding Payton in Mrs. Linda's back yard looking at the cows in the pasture beside Mrs. Linda's house. Mrs. Linda's husband came home from work and another mom came to pick up her little boy and we were all standing around talking. Well Mr. Linwood (Mrs. Linda's husband) squatted down and Payton was leaning up against his leg when out of no where Payton takes off walking by himself and took about 4 steps before I caught him in my arms as he was falling. Everyone started hollering and screaming because Payton took his first few steps right there in front of us all when we were least expecting it. Well needless to say we kept trying to get him to walk and he did each time. He was able to take about 6 steps by himself before falling. I am so proud of him and SO GLAD I was able to see him walk for the first time by himself. It brought tears to my eyes like A LOT of things that he does that melts my heart as his mommy. I absolutely am so blessed to have a healthy, beautiful little boy whom I adore and give God all the thanks for sending him to Jamie and myself. There are a lot more fun days to come! Thanks for melting my heart BOOGIE!

Melissa and Mark's Wedding

Well yesterday was an amazing day for two special people. My sister-in-law and her fiance Mark were married at 3:00 pm at the Bed and Breakfast in Apex. The ceremony was outside and was absolutely beautiful. I was so busy I did not get to take as many pictures as I would have liked to. So here are a few of their big day. By the way, Payton was the ring bearer and he rode in a little red wagon pulled by the flower girls. He did such a good job considering he is only ONE year old!

Pool Party

Sunday afternoon my little cousin Madison, had her 5th birthday party at Lake Pines pool in La Grange. To prepare for the pool party, I went to Target and bought Payton a starfish baby float. He has been in his baby pool before but never the BIG POOL. He absolutely loved the water as I expected he would. When he was in his float he just kicked his little legs so hard and splashed the water in his face with his hands.

Jamie had so much fun at the pool you would have thought he was a kid again. He performed some of his famous flips and dives on the deeper end of the pool while Payton and myself sat back and watched. We all had a great time and look forward to carrying Payton back to the pool.

I can't believe I got in a bathing suit!

Payton was all smiles in his new starfish float!

We had hotdogs, cheese doodles, chips, and cake to eat at the party. Well the only thing that my little munchkin wanted to eat was the whole bag of cheesedoodles.

That is one thing he did get from me because I love them! These are some adorable pictures of Payton really enjoying his cheese doodles! Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Tar Heel Boy

This is a beautiful outfit that my parents gave Payton for his first birthday. He looked so handsome for church in his outfit and his Carolina pacifier. This is one of my favorite church outfits yet!

Payton out on the FARM

Jamie and his dad started their first day of harvesting tobacco on July 9, 2009 with a new system to make work more efficient. We have a new Granville loading system which is completely amazing to watch in person. Times have really changed compared to the "old days". Here are a few pictures of Jamie, Payton, and Uncle Larry. Payton was so interested in the whole setup.

Payton started out in his little red car. While I was so interested in watching the loading system I looked down at him and this is what he looked like!

I ended up taking off his clothes and let him be a real little boy and play in the dirt. You could not have asked for a happier baby than that. He truely loves the outdoors and being on the ground. He should fit in just fine living on our farm! Hope you enjoy some pictures of him playing in the dirt!
