Fall Scene

Tuesday Payton and myself ran a few errands gathering all the things that we needed for our fall scene to put into our front yard.  Last year I didn’t put a fall scene out because Payton was only 3 months old and I had just started going back to work and a fall scene was the last thing on my mind.  Jamie’s favorite season is fall so he really enjoys this season and likes the fall scene in the front yard.  Payton and I went and bought some  bales of wheat straw, pumpkins, mums, and got a bundle of corn out of the corn field.  I pulled my old scarecrow out of the barn.  Then with Payton’s help we began placing everything where I wanted it to go.  Needless to say, my little helper took every little pumpkin that I placed in the fall scene and threw it in his little red wagon that we used to pull all the items out to the front yard.  He had a great time and I just loved watching him pick up the pumpkins and throw them in the wagon!  No pumpkin was harmed during this activity!

Our First Play date

playdate 025

Today Payton and myself hosted the very first play date at our house.  We hope there will be many more to come.  Stacey, Cameron, Diana, and Brody joined up for the play date.  All 3 of our boys had a great time playing together and eating!  I cooked lunch and made sure all of us Mama’s got our bellies full!  In the picture above, Stacey and Diana were trying to eat but as you can see the little ones always come first.

Baby Cameron taking a nap on mommy! That is the sweetest thing ever!

Overall we had a great time and the boys played so well together.  Diana, Stacey and myself have been best friends for quite a while now.  When we were teenagers we all thought that I would get married first, then Diana, and then Stacey.  Well life didn’t happen that way.  Diana was married first in May of 2006, I was married in June 2007, and Stacey was married in April 2008.  Isn’t it amazing how God works in our lives?  I was the first one to give birth to Payton in July 2008 followed by Diana having Brody in December 2008 and followed by Stacey having Cameron in May 2009.  It is crazy how we all had boys and we wouldn’t trade them for any sweet little frilly dressed girl!  Although we were all talking today how cool it would be for us all to have girls the next time around.  God is so good to us and even though we don’t get to see each other a lot with our busy lives, I am blessed to know that if I need Stacey or Diana that they would be here in a split second and I am proud to say that they are my best friends.  They both are good people and are good role models for Payton.  I say that they are Payton’s “Aunt Diana and Aunt Stacey”.  I hope the start of today’s first play date is just one of the many to come in the near future.  Stacey has already spoke up to host next months play date at her house for October.  Diana will have November and it will be my turn again for December…..yay!!!  Hope you enjoyed the sweet pictures of our little pumpkins!

So did you get enough pictures of Payton and his golden leaf?  Just wanted to post some cute pictures of him.  I entered him into the Ag Carolina Photo contest for the 2010 calendar with these 3 pictures below.

So I am hoping that he will make one of the twelve calendar pictures. I know that is wishful thinking but he is my child and I think he is adorable!  I would be so excited if he won!

The signs of Fall

One day last week we went out to eat with my family.  That night it was really cool and I wanted Payton to be warm.  I have already bought him several cute long sleeve shirts from Old Navy and he has all of his jeans left from last year with the tags still on them because his little butt hasn’t grown any!  Check out the little boy with his fall/winter attire on.  I just love dressing him up.  Imagine what I would do if I had a girl!

Eating like a BIG BOY

Well it seems like in the flash of my eye my baby is not much of a baby anymore.  Since he is getting to be sooo independent I have allowed him to start using his own little fork and spoon at meals.  He is the cutest thing raking his food in his plate and bringing it to his mouth.  Somehow he manages to spill half of it in his lap and on the floor but he gets sooo excited when he gets it to his mouth.  Here are some sweet pictures of my big little man!

Taking out Tobacco

Well first thing this morning I put Payton in his overalls and we headed out to the tobacco barns for a photo shoot. I have been meaning to take him all summer long on a Saturday morning and today it finally worked out.  I figured Payton would have a great time and obviously from the pictures below you can see that he did.  He was just amazed at the tobacco baler and watching everyone work.  For those of you that don’t know tobacco is our number one money making crop so it is very important to our family.  I figured Payton needed to have a first time experience with a leaf of golden tobacco!  He picked up a leaf and waved it in the air.  I am so glad that Payton will have the opportunity like Jamie and myself to grow up on the farm and enjoy the fun of work and play.  Here are some really cute pictures of farmer Payton in his overalls.

Once again Payton goes straight to the dirt pile!

I love this picture.  He truly looks like the old picture that is at my Grandma Shirley’s house that says, “You been farming long?”
