Simply Busy

Well I have not blogged in about a week or so for no particular reason except I am always BUSY. People always ask me what our family has been up to and I always want to say, “Where do I begin!”  I am like any other mom.  I work, I clean, I wash clothes, I cook, I spend time with my baby and husband, and I go to sleep.  I actually have not been able to post pictures because the batteries in my camera have been dead and for some reason I have not bought any yet!  As for Payton he has had a summer cold with a nasty runny nose and a fussy personality.  We have gone to visit Jordan, Emily, and baby Jackson a couple of times this past week, and he is doing really good.  Here are a few pictures of my little Prince “OUTSIDE” which is his favorite place in the entire world.

Meet Jackson Cole Rouse

Well the last 24 hours have been a whirlwind for our family.  We have the most precious addition to our family in the form of a sweet baby boy named Jackson Cole Rouse.  He is my first nephew and I am so excited to say that I am finally an aunt.  Emily did really well with the labor and welcomed little Jackson into this world at 5:17 am on 8/15/09 one day after his daddy’s birthday!  He weighed 6 lbs. and 15 oz. and was 19.25 inches long.  He has a head full of brown hair and I can’t imagine where he got that from!!!(Jordan :} ) We are all so truly blessed to have healthy babies and wonderful pregnancies.  I just would like to say how proud I am of my brother and Emily as they welcomed this wonderful baby into their lives.  I pray that Jackson continues to grow and is healthy and also know how much he is loved.  And by the way, my Pa (Wayne Killette) would have loved to seen him! Love you Pa!  Here are a few pictures of this eventful morning at WMH.

Meet Mini Spare Change

Well Payton received several guitars for his 1st birthday.  This is one of his favorites that he walks around the house with.  He loves music and dances around.  When he hears music and he is sitting down he swings his arms side to side.  Hopefully the little rascal will have some rhythm when he gets older. I always tell Payton if he wants to sing and play his guitar like Uncle Jordan then he needs to practice really hard! So here are some cute pictures of the future guitar player for Uncle Jordan’s band Spare Change!

A day in the life of Payton

Well Sunday was a very busy day for us.  We unfortunately did not go to church because we had to leave to drive down to Wrightsville Beach, NC for a family reunion.  We had a really good time seeing family that we don’t get to see very often.  We knew it was going to be a long day and Payton was getting his first summer cold for this year and he was not feeling the best in the world.  Here is a few pictures from our photo shoot before we left.

013

He was really looking cute in his monogrammed Polo shirt that Tina gave him for his birthday!

023

Somehow I managed to forget my camera for the reunion but this is little man swinging in his swing once we returned home.  Payton slept almost all of the way home.  When we were about 10 minutes from home he woke up in the most horrible mood and cried the rest of the way home.  Action plan to calm him down once we were home was to take him outside to swing. And by the way, “Outside” is a very popular word out our house.  It makes life so much easier when he is crying!

031

After Payton enjoyed swinging I put him down to get dirty obviously!  He saw that his Daddy and Grandpa Glen were out at the tobacco barns checking on them and off he ran just as hard as he could.

033

This is Payton in action digging out to the tobacco barns after Daddy.  I thought this was such a beautiful picture with the lighting!

034

After Payton watched Daddy and Grandpa Glen check the tobacco barns he found another one of his favorite things…..a TRACTOR.  Payton can tell you what the tractor says when you ask him and it is soooo cute!  All I have to say for this picture is “Little People……Big World!”

037

Here is Jamie and Payton in front of the tobacco barns.  Even if Payton does not take on the family tradition of farming he sure will be exposed to it a great deal.  Farming is definitely a part of our lives.

039

I thought this was a cute picture of 3 generations.  This would be Jamie holding Payton and Grandpa Glen in front of the RED tractor.  Just in case you didn’t know my family likes GREEN John Deere tractors and Jamie and his dad like RED Case International tractors.  So Payton will be confused as to which one he is suppose to like!  PaPa Wayne has given Payton several GREEN John Deere tractors and combines to play with!

This would be Payton driving the fork lift to end his busy day.  He likes to blow the horn and move the steering wheel.  His Daddy takes him for several rides on the fork lift and that is just about as good as you can get if you are Payton!

Well this about sums up a day in the life of Payton Carey Rouse on the farm.  Life is hard being a one year old but its especially hard if you are a growing boy on the farm.

Walking Little Man

Well it seems as though Payton went from taking 5 steps to running in a matter of a week.  He is going every where and exploring things in his own little world.  Yesterday I took him outside and let him wander where ever he wanted to go.  Our dog Jaida was chasing him and running around him in a circle and he enjoyed chasing her around the yard.

Payton actually took a walk out to the tobacco barns to see Daddy, Grandpa Glen, and Papa Wayne while they were talking and “farming”!  Payton wasn’t to interested in talking “farming” and came back running to the house!

Payton was chasing my mom and dad’s dog Haygan around the yard also.  He just thinks Jaida and Haygan are fun to watch and play with.

100_2247

This would be my child who is NOT scared of falling.  He loves to climb steps.  He actually walked right off our porch and I caught him in my arms because he doesn’t see danger in anything.  Oh the fun of having little boys!

Rascal Flatts Concert

August 09 009

Well Sunday night I did something that I have not done in a really long time.  I went out with my husband, my cousins, and my friends to see Rascal Flatts in Raleigh.  We drove our Tahoe so everyone could pack in and took off to Raleigh.  We went out to eat at Chili’s before the concert and then headed on over.  Once we got there and found a spot on the lawn we all were ready for some good music.  Cletus T. Judd performed first which was pretty bad!  Then Darius Rucker performed for about 40 minutes and he did a wonderful job.  Then about 9:30 pm we got some really good entertainment from Rascal Flatts and we all really enjoyed the concert.  The weather was perfect and cool the entire time.  It really is nice to be able to get away for some ADULT time every now and then but I was ready to come home and get my little man.  NOTHING in the world beats being a mommy!

Two is Better than One

Well this weekend I volunteered my mommy services out to my best friend Tina. She has an 18 month old little boy Nate, who is soo sweet and cute. I knew that it would be a job taking care of an 18 month old and my 12 month old who is high maintanence, but I didn't mind helping her out! Her husband and their other children went to Disney World and decided not to take Nate because he is so little and it would be so hot there. I picked Nate up after I got off of work on Friday from Mrs. Leah who is his babysitter. I am taking Nate back to Mrs. Leah on Sunday for him to stay until his mommy gets home on Tuesday. Payton and Nate have enjoyed each others company and companionship. They played together great, except a couple of times when they would snatch a toy from each other and then the other one cries....it is kinda hilarious!!! Nate has called for his mommy several times but has not had any meltdowns. I think Payton acts better with Nate around then when he does when its just me and him. Having another little one around wouldn't be so bad after all. We will just have to convince Daddy of this thought! Here are some cute pictures of these 2 little monkeys in their pajamas on the couch...they are so sweet and cute!
