So did you get enough pictures of Payton and his golden leaf?  Just wanted to post some cute pictures of him.  I entered him into the Ag Carolina Photo contest for the 2010 calendar with these 3 pictures below.

So I am hoping that he will make one of the twelve calendar pictures. I know that is wishful thinking but he is my child and I think he is adorable!  I would be so excited if he won!

The signs of Fall

One day last week we went out to eat with my family.  That night it was really cool and I wanted Payton to be warm.  I have already bought him several cute long sleeve shirts from Old Navy and he has all of his jeans left from last year with the tags still on them because his little butt hasn’t grown any!  Check out the little boy with his fall/winter attire on.  I just love dressing him up.  Imagine what I would do if I had a girl!

Eating like a BIG BOY

Well it seems like in the flash of my eye my baby is not much of a baby anymore.  Since he is getting to be sooo independent I have allowed him to start using his own little fork and spoon at meals.  He is the cutest thing raking his food in his plate and bringing it to his mouth.  Somehow he manages to spill half of it in his lap and on the floor but he gets sooo excited when he gets it to his mouth.  Here are some sweet pictures of my big little man!

Taking out Tobacco

Well first thing this morning I put Payton in his overalls and we headed out to the tobacco barns for a photo shoot. I have been meaning to take him all summer long on a Saturday morning and today it finally worked out.  I figured Payton would have a great time and obviously from the pictures below you can see that he did.  He was just amazed at the tobacco baler and watching everyone work.  For those of you that don’t know tobacco is our number one money making crop so it is very important to our family.  I figured Payton needed to have a first time experience with a leaf of golden tobacco!  He picked up a leaf and waved it in the air.  I am so glad that Payton will have the opportunity like Jamie and myself to grow up on the farm and enjoy the fun of work and play.  Here are some really cute pictures of farmer Payton in his overalls.

Once again Payton goes straight to the dirt pile!

I love this picture.  He truly looks like the old picture that is at my Grandma Shirley’s house that says, “You been farming long?”

Payton’s First ride on the COMBINE!

Well Payton was able to ride the combine with daddy for the first time in his life on the day he turned 14 months old.  Wow how time flies!  Believe it or not we also brought Jaida to ride too!  He really liked it a lot and he made his traditional  tractor noises with his mouth which is too cute.  Here are some pictures from his fun filled Friday.

After we got back from riding the combine I let Payton play around the shop.  He just absolutely loves to be outside.  He squeals when we go down the steps to go outside to play. His most favorite thing to do right now is play in the dirt.  He picks up clumps of dirt and throws them up in the air.  He had dirt in his hair, ears, diaper, and anywhere else you could think of.  I think all children love dirt but especially boys!

I love this picture of him!  He is really thinking

After we played I came in and cooked supper.  We had started eating when I looked over at Payton and there it was….a macaroni noodle perfectly sitting on the top of his head.  I just died laughing so I had to break out the camera.  Of course he had no clue why I was laughing!

Well that pretty much sums up Payton’s busy day.  I still can not believe my baby is 14 months old today……where does the time go?  I was driving home from work today on the way to pick Payton up from daycare and I passed by Spring Creek Elementary school and had a crying meltdown because before I know it my baby will be in kindergarten.  But I am just truly lucky to have such a healthy, sweet, and precious son that GOD has given to Jamie and myself to raise and I am so honored to call him OUR SON!  Thank you Lord…..for all your blessings that you bestow upon us everyday.

Simply Busy

Well I have not blogged in about a week or so for no particular reason except I am always BUSY. People always ask me what our family has been up to and I always want to say, “Where do I begin!”  I am like any other mom.  I work, I clean, I wash clothes, I cook, I spend time with my baby and husband, and I go to sleep.  I actually have not been able to post pictures because the batteries in my camera have been dead and for some reason I have not bought any yet!  As for Payton he has had a summer cold with a nasty runny nose and a fussy personality.  We have gone to visit Jordan, Emily, and baby Jackson a couple of times this past week, and he is doing really good.  Here are a few pictures of my little Prince “OUTSIDE” which is his favorite place in the entire world.

Meet Jackson Cole Rouse

Well the last 24 hours have been a whirlwind for our family.  We have the most precious addition to our family in the form of a sweet baby boy named Jackson Cole Rouse.  He is my first nephew and I am so excited to say that I am finally an aunt.  Emily did really well with the labor and welcomed little Jackson into this world at 5:17 am on 8/15/09 one day after his daddy’s birthday!  He weighed 6 lbs. and 15 oz. and was 19.25 inches long.  He has a head full of brown hair and I can’t imagine where he got that from!!!(Jordan :} ) We are all so truly blessed to have healthy babies and wonderful pregnancies.  I just would like to say how proud I am of my brother and Emily as they welcomed this wonderful baby into their lives.  I pray that Jackson continues to grow and is healthy and also know how much he is loved.  And by the way, my Pa (Wayne Killette) would have loved to seen him! Love you Pa!  Here are a few pictures of this eventful morning at WMH.
